Solomon falls in love with Gaenor, who soon becomes pregnant. However, Solomon has concealed his Jewish background.
Anti-semitic feeling in the area is rife, including among her own family and as the hatred boils over into violence, the couple take desperate measures to preserve their love and are forced to flee for their lives.
