Young Frankenstein (PG)

YoungFrank_

A young neurosurgeon (Gene Wilder) inherits the castle of his grandfather, the famous Dr. Victor von Frankenstein. In the castle he finds a hunchback called Igor, a pretty lab assistant named Inga and the old housekeeper, frau Blucher. Young Frankenstein believes that the work of his grandfather is nonsense, but when he discovers the book where the mad doctor described his reanimation experiment, he suddenly changes his mind…
After four decades, it is still one of the funniest films ever made.
Mel Brooks homage to the 1931 original Frankenstein is hilarious from start to finish, thanks to a fantastic cast of comic actors and superb writing from Wilder and Brooks. Peter Boyle is great as the monster, particularly in the scene with Gene Hackman’s Blind Man. But it’s Marty Feldman’s Igor that makes this film unmissable.

Cast: Gene Wilder, Madeline Kahn, Marty Feldman, Teri Garr, Peter Boyle, Gene Hackman
Director:  Mel Brooks
Rating: PG certificate
