The lives of two dramatically different people will be unveiled with plenty of power and drama at Monico Movies’ next enthralling film evenings.
First, Oscar-winning director Ron Howard will tell the colourful, unforgettable story of legendary tenor Luciano Pavarotti. His documentary may have a simple title, Pavarotti (cert. 12A), (trailer) but the late singer’s life was anything but straightforward.
Howard takes viewers from deep in the Amazonian jungle, where the Italian giant wants to sing on a famous stage, to Italy, New York, and the moving Three Tenors concert that made “Nessun dorma” a worldwide phenomenon and resulted in the best-selling classical music album of all time.
Along the way, the film covers everything from Pavarotti’s impoverished childhood and his early days as “King of the High C’s” to his support for Jose Carreras when his singing rival falls ill, his recording career, and all the twists…
